About My calling to become an End-of-Life Doula (Death Doula) was clear to me from an extremely young age, I just wasn’t sure on how to get there. Through my own personal experiences of trauma, loss, grief, and depression, I knew I needed to heal myself and had no idea where to start. I started my personal healing journey when I was hired at a local Funeral Home, where I started out as a Funeral Attendant. Through the years I had wonderful opportunities in the industry which gave me irreplaceable bereavement experience.
What I was not expecting, is that every family I met, assisted and supported with their grief and loss, I healed. Little by little, I was able to grieve my own personal losses with each and every family. I was honored to be a part of these family moments at the most painful and difficult intimate times. They taught me how to heal which in turn, I helped the families heal. Through the upcoming years, I had remained in the bereavement and the funeral industry but was still searching for more. I had heard about End-of-Life Doulas (Death Doulas) through a friend and took little time to look up and start gathering information. It was an instant fit! The Conscious Dying Institute was offering an End-of-Life Doula certification course in Vancouver, BC. I registered immediately! The rest is history. I am now here to guide and support all that you and your family need in forgiveness, grief, acceptance before and/or after death. As a Certified End-of-Life Doula (Death Doula) I will support you and your family with many of the difficult questions and situations that come alongside death and dying. I am trained in holistic care modalities bringing comfort and peace to those at end of life and their families. I will assist you through grief, forgiveness, creating ceremony or ritual and bring healing practices to the sacred process of dying before, during and after death. My loved one is dying, what can I expect? What can I do? Planning for a death at home? There are going to be many questions that you will have along with your family. I will support you through this process step-by-step and help you identify life and your care priorities, using life coaching exercises and our planning guide made by the choices of yourself and your family. You are not alone; I would be honored to guide and support you and your family through this sacred and precious time. |
